Ian McIntyre ran his own engineering consultancy before studying for an MBA at the Norwegian School of Management. Since his graduation in 2000 (with the award "MBA of the Year"), he has been working for TPG on business restructuring and change implementation facilitating workshops to involve people coaching and advising, to release people's interest and enthusiasm. He is especially interested in the anthropological view of change – understanding people's perceptions of changes to their worlds.

Originally, Ian graduated in Chemical Engineering. During his successful career, mainly in the Offshore Oil and Gas industry, he had assignments in Europe, the Far East and the Arabian Gulf with extensive travelling to the rest of the world. His career included working on-site and several positions starting up new installations. The experience he gained in these high stress environments, working with diverse teams, gave him the perfect background for managing complexity. He has worked in project or line management positions since 1983. Ian is a board member of The Performance Group AS, Chairman of Conpart AS and sits on the committees of two voluntary organisations.

Ian was born and raised in Yorkshire, England and now lives just outside Oslo, Norway. He is married with two daughters and enjoys cycling and skiing in his spare time. He is fluent in Norwegian in addition to his native English.
